Geography
1,192 coral islands across 26 natural atolls, running 871 km north to south. Total land area 298 km², scattered over roughly 90,000 km² of sea.
Arrivals
2,240,711 arrivals in 2025. Resorts took 73.4 per cent of them, guesthouses 21.8 per cent — a share that has grown fast and that most international coverage still misses.
