Laamu

ލ · L · Surf, and a road you can cycle

Laamu is a surf atoll. Yin Yang and Refugees break on the eastern rim and draw a season’s worth of surfers to what is otherwise a very quiet place.

It is also one of the few atolls with a road. Fonadhoo, Maandhoo, Kadhdhoo and Gan are linked by causeway — about twelve kilometres of tarmac you can ride end to end, past taro fields and mangrove.

Getting there

Kadhdhoo is a domestic flight from Malé. Once there, four islands are joined by causeway — you can cycle between them, which is rare in the Maldives.

Properties below are the Ministry of Tourism’s registered facilities for this atoll — name, island, rooms and beds exactly as recorded on the register. Transfer times, house-reef status and rates are checked by us property by property and appear as each listing is completed.
