Gaafu Alifu

Gaafu Alifu is the northern half of Huvadhu, one of the largest atolls in the world by area. The lagoon is deep and the channels are wide, which makes for big-animal diving and very few boats to share it with.
This is the deep south, and it feels it. Flights are longer, prices for transfer are higher, and the reward is reef that sees a fraction of the traffic of Ari or Malé.

Kooddoo is a domestic flight of about an hour from Malé, and several resorts run speedboats directly from the airport.
